Improvement of Japanese Sign Language Recognition with Vowel Estimation from Lip Images

Abstract

We propose a method for recognizing Japanese sign language from a video. We integrate responses from hand gesture and vowel estimation to achieve accurate Japanese sign language recognition. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.
