Pathological examinations undertaken at our Department in 1992 were statistically reviewed. The total number of biopsy materials amounted to 513 from 356 cases (169 males and 187 females). In age distribution, the numbers of patients in the forties, fifties, and sixties were comparatively more, and those above seventy and under ten years of age were fewer The pathological diagnoses consisted mainly of 36 squamous cell carcinomas, 34 postoperative maxillary cysts, 30 radicular cysts, 29 mucoceles, 11 hyperkeratosis,14 primordial cysts, 10 papillomas, 9 lichen planus, 8 fibromas, 8 Sjögren syndromes, and 6 dentigerous cysts.
