Abstract

【Background】The proportion of disease which is involved in the onset of esophageal obstruction by bolus is 60-80% in the West.【Objective】To reveal the involvement of disease in patients with esophageal obstruction by bolus . 【Method】We investigated 25 cases in which bolus was obstructing the esophagus in the esophagogastroduodenoscopy test in 10 years retrospectively.【Results】The proportion of diseases which is involved in the onset of esophageal obstruction by bolus was 60%. Some of these could be medically intervened. 【Discussion】There are causative diseases that could be medically intervened in patients with esophageal obstruction by bolus.
