The common practice of using pink base resin for dentures has gone unquestioned for years. However, it is difficult to impart a feeling of depth for the artificial teeth which are set in the denture, making it hard to avoid an artificial appearance. As a result, although much work has been done and various attempts have been made to improve the gingival portion of the resin base, even though a good static appearance was obtained, the dynamic esthetics were far from satisfactory. However, when the denture is made of clear base resin, not only does the denture itself look better, but also the static appearance in the oral cavity is better and the dynamic esthetics are dramatically improved. These advantages were investigated and analyzed from both the standpoint of the patient and the dentist.
