Abstract

This study clarifies the current situation of which human attributes and urgent issues of the craft vocational schools in Seto City, which have made specific craft fields a foundational industry for the regional sustainability. The survey method is pattern analysis based on information from questionnaire surveys of trainees at three technical training institutions (vocational schools) in the city and interview surveys of instructors (craft artists). Comparing the results with similar surveys in neighboring Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, the results highlight the importance on two kinds of training environment between studio artists and industrial employees of a craft training environment and them more caring for the younger and elderly, those relocating from Japan and overseas, and women.
