This paper examines the Cooperative of Arita Ceramics Wholesale Commercial Park (Arita Será) as a principal case, analyzing the functions of contemporary cooperatives from an economic geography perspective. It investigates the cooperative’s nodal and bridging roles as an intermediary organization within and beyond the production district. In conclusion, this paper indicates that through the development and management of its projects, the cooperative both mobilizes existing functions and possess a degree of “internal–external integrative capacity”. This capability is pivotal for the revitalization and further development of the district.
