Abstract
We report a case of mediastinal liposarcoma. A 60-year-old man was referred to our hospital with a complaint of throat discomfort. Six years previously, he was pointed out as showing mediastinal widening on chest radiograph, but he did not undergo close follow-up. Chest computed tomography showed a large fatty mass impinging on the superior vena cava, innominate vein, and azygos vein in the anterior and middle mediastinum. We diagnosed it as a mediastinal liposarcoma. Surgical resection was performed, but the tumor was incompletely resected because of strong adhesion to the surrounding organs. The pathological diagnosis was a well-differentiated liposarcoma.
