Proposal and Subject for Editing of "Research Profile" of Photographic Archive Using Digital Book Format.

The Case Study of the Iwakura Family Photograph

Abstract

Various organizations have been creating photographic archives, but photographs innately have little written information, and that creates various problems such as difficulty of indentifying subjects of the photographs, and the preservation conditions of photographs varies widely between material groups. Considering from these perspectives, when analyzing history, folklores, folkways, societies and such, it is ideal to have the background, original order, sorting method and its process, informatization method, its process and basis as 'profiles', and refer them in the process of analyzing. This study proposed a method of storing information necessary for analyses in 'research profiles' by using the digital book format.
