Abstract

A 51-year-old woman with right upper abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and melena was admitted to our hospital. Computed tomography showed the presence of fat-density lesions as the lead point of the ileocolonic intussusception. We tried to reduce the intussusception with colonoscopy, without success, and the patient therefore underwent emergency laparotomy. After reduction of the intussusception with Hutchinson's maneuver, partial resection of the ileum was performed. The patient was diagnosed as having an intussusception caused by ileal lipomatosis.
