Abstract

Falling from a personal watercraft can cause damage to the small intestine, although it may be difficult to make an appropriate diagnosis in the early stage. A 28-year-old man was thrown off from a moving personal watercraft and was admitted with a diagnosis of femoral neck fracture. However, two days later, he began to complain of abdominal pain, and traumatic gastrointestinal perforation was suspected. Partial small bowel resection, drainage of the retroperitoneal space, and femoral head replacement were performed. After the operation, the patient was continued on conservative treatment, and the patient was discharged from our hospital on the 19th hospital day.
