Current Status and Issues in Regional Emergency Medical Care

Abstract

Physician’s work style reforms began to be implemented in Japan in April 2024, with caps set on overtime work and enforcement of health protection measures. Our institution was established in June 2014 by integrating the functions of five hospitals that existed previously in western Aomori prefecture, and has become the only referral center in the region. Our department opened in April 2019. I would like to present the current status and issues faced by young doctors in building a sustainable emergency surgical practice, and our efforts in overcoming them.
