Abstract
ICRU Report 19 supersedes ICRU Report 11. The major changes are: (a) introduction of additional quantities particularly in the areas of microdosimetry and radiation protection; and (b) more rigorous definition of the quantities without altering their meaning or range of applicability.
The present article is an interpretative translation of the Report. Certain additional definitions and terms appearing in the Report have been translated into Japanese based on the author's personal judgement.
