Abstract
Hoi An was listed on The World Heritage List in 1999. Since then tourists have increased. There are problems in Hoi An, one is the influx of outsiders for business. Therefore, this paper grasped the changes in facades due to differences between self-employed and tenant owners. As a result, the following things were clarified.
1) Shops increased and density increased.
2) Self-employed shops had drastically decreased, and tenants had increased.
3) Both Self-employed and tenant owners recognized Hoi An as a tourist destination.
4) Souvenir shops with low initial costs had increased. On the other hand, Restaurants with high initial costs were only tenants.
5) Restaurants and service industries had installed many signs.
6) Hotels and restaurants decorated many lanterns that needed to attract many guests because there were no products to display
