Abstract

This study aims at searching for the possible needs from doctors and nurses for pharmacists to be constantly present at wards of a hospital. From the two aspects of “lightening burdens of medical staffs” and “quality improvement of medical care,” doctors and nurses were asked in a questionnaire if it is necessary to have pharmacists being constantly present at their wards, and what kind of work they expect from the pharmacists who are assigned for the wards. The result showed that the constant presence of pharmacists in the wards is highly needed from both aspects. In order to truly contribute to the advanced quality of medical care, it is important for us pharmacists to do our job with properly grasping the needs of doctors and nurses working in the hospital.
