Abstract

Public transport systems are a key element to improve mobility in medium and large cities. To date more than 150 cities have implemented some form of BRT system worldwide, carrying around estimated 32million passengers each weekday. A survey of BRT around the world indicates that there are about 150 cities with bus corridor, contain 99 cities in the last 12 years. The aim of this paper is to compare the implementation BRT corridor of cities which just impressive growth of BRT. We collected information from cities around the world that have implemented BRT systems, and delimit the cities to big five cities. As the result of this study, there is a booming trend of implementation of BRT systems corridor during year of 2000until 2010. Almost 13% total BRT corridor length around the world showed by those cities
