Abstract

Bamboo is a material to be used in construction due to bamboo is able to grow in all weather conditions and a fast growing plant. It has become the preferred material to be used that is good for the environment. Bamboos of Thailand are used vastly from the past to until now, We can see bamboo applications especially to be used widely in architecture and construction. Current trend of construction technology in bamboo has gain more interest of its sustainability, However, the cognitive development of the bamboo material is lackecoff, and the recognition of the importance of bamboo has been neglected. Then, this research would like to recognize the importance of bamboo to bring up its development in knowledge of modern construction technology. So bamboo architecture can bring new ideas to design and construct more efficiently. To create bamboo architecture, its structure need to be carefully designed and considered in strengthening them by using reinforcing materials such as steel bars and mortar or concrete, The current, structural bambochas been developed both in columns and beams, however design building, structural floors is an important and existing knowledge of the structural floors made of bamboo has limited, This research aims to study the loading capacity of prefabricated floor made of reinforced bamboo that can offer best performance and most capacity of strength of prefabricated floor. The research outcome can be applied to the modern building construction technology that can be utilized natural materials with simple technology to be easily adopted by general public, so they can be promoted to more uses of sustainable materials. The objective of the study is to investigate the prefabricated floor made of reinforce bamboo. The bamboospecie is selected to be Pai Sang Mon (Dendrocalamus Munro). the diameter is set to be diameter of 3-inch. The reinforcing methods are selected to be three types; mortar, rebars, and Threaded rod. The testing method is to find load carrying capacity of prefabricated floor make of reinforced bamboo followed the ISO 22157Determination of physical and mechanical properties of bamboo. Test results of the efficacy of loading capacity show that reinforced bamboo has the highest efficacy to loading more than regular bamboo culm33.4 percent and prefabricated floor made of reinforced bamboo is capable of load capacity 894.7 kg/cm2. It is interesting that bamboo, as a natural material, can be made to prefabricated floor with great strength. It can be used as an alternative construction material, especially in residential projects to replace wood and reinforced concrete.
