Abstract

In this paper, through comparing AC induction motor, brush DC motor and permanent magnet brushless DC motor in the actual manufacturing cost, power density, output torque and the speed control performance it is concluded that brushless DC motors are advantageous in terms of energy saving, ongevity, compactness. light weight, low noise, good speed performance and other environmental characteristics and have a good development prospect. At the same time, the problem of torque ripple and its causes are analyzed, and the existence of ripple torque in permanent magnet brushless DC motor is proved by a permanent magnet rotation angular acceleration sensor. In addition, this paper presents an improved scheme to reduce the torque ripple, which provides a broader prospect for the application of permanent magnet brushless DC motor.
