Abstract

The WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training on Interprofessional Education (IPE), Gunma University, held the first ever “IPE Training Course” in Gunma University. This course was to provide technical information and a model for the establishment or development of IPE program. Targeted participants were educators or health professionals with interests in the introduction of IPE curricula to their educational/health care institutions, particularly in the Western Pacific Region. Targeted participants were educators or health professionals with interest in the introduction of IPE curricula to their educational/health care institutions, particularly in the Western Pacific Region. The course generally comprised of lectures, case simulation followed by small group discussions, presentations, and field visit to health care facilities. The summary of the training schedule is presented in the table 1. All of the sessions were expected to fulfill the main objective of providing technical information and a model for the establishment or development of IPE program. The IPE training course in Gunma University may play an important role not only in establishment or development of IPE program in each country of the Western Pacific Region but also in facilitating the construction of Asian IPE network.
