In this research, we defined the house adaptation that promotes barrier-free and prevents heatshock as “preventive house adaptation” which complements the long-term care insurance system. We focused on the whole tendency from view point of the repair cases in Niigata City and analyzed mainly by the qualitative aspect of the repair cases in Oita Prefecture. As a result, it was pointed out that, in addition to housing improvement by the long-term care insurance system and selfrepairing, the house improvement support system by the local government may be effective. On the other hand, we pointed that it is necessary to appropriately determine the necessity of the content of the modification, etc.
