Abstract

This study employed a case study approach to evaluate the compliance rates with relevant laws and regulations regarding accommodation for foreign technical intern trainees. The findings revealed that more than half of the accommodations failed to meet standards in five out of the seven assessed items. The key non-compliance issues were as follows: ①92.6% of respondents had never participated in evacuation drills; ②77.8% of accommodations lacked storage facilities for personal belongings; ③66.7% of respondents did not have private rooms; ④regarding living space per person, 53.8% fell below the standard of 4.5m2, with an average of 4.2m2 and the smallest reported case measuring 1.6m2; and ⑤ concerning living costs, 53.8% of respondents were charged higher rates than neighboring accommodations, with the average cost being 2.2 times greater.
