Abstract
Nano-sized scattering centers in Li2B4O7 crystal have been investigated. These scattering centers consist of voids and cause the decrease of transmittance in UV region, leading to the degradation of nonlinear optical devices. Mode of occurrence and size distribution of scattering centers is revealed, and scattering centers free Li2B4O7 single crystals s have been successfully grown by CZ method with dry air flow.
