Potassic-ferropargasite, a new member of the amphibole group, from Kabutoichiba, Kameyama, Mie Prefecture, central Japan

Abstract

Potassic-ferropargasite, ideally KCa₂(Fe²⁺₄Al)Si₆Al₂O₂₂(OH)₂, occurs in a calcareous metamorphic rock from Kabutoichiba, Kameyama, Mie Prefecture, central Japan. It is monoclinic, space group C2/m, with refined unit-cell parameters a = 9.937(5), b = 18.108(5), c = 5.335(4) Å, β = 105.30(3)°, V = 926.0(9) ų, Z = 2. The mineral and mineral name were approved by the IMA, CNMNC, #2007-053.
