Chromite from Higashi-akaishi peridotite mass in Ehime prefecture

Abstract

Two type chromites which have peculiar mode of occurrence were found in Higashi-akaishi peridotite mass. Type1 which was found in serpentinized part of dunite has lamella structure. Type1 chromite crystal consists of four phase. Spicular chromian chlorite crystallized in chromite host. Type2 chromite associated with chromian chlorite. Chromian chlorite is finer than type1. Magnetite which don't crystallize surround chromite rim. These chromites crystallize as solo grain which is grainy or interminiate form.
