Abstract
There occur non-metamorphosed conglomerate beds directly overlying the metamorphic rocks of the eclogite-bearing Choloktor suite with tectonic boundary. The conglomerate bed consists mostly of subrounded to subangular cobbles and boulders, and the clasts with size up to 80 cm in diameter of the conglomerate include eclogites, garnet glaucophane schist, glaucophane schist, pelitic schists and limestone. and altered eclogites with size up to 40 cm in diameter. The variety of the metamorphic rocks in the clasts is obviously different from that in the Choloktor suite, and the metamorphic history of the eclogites from the conglomerate is different from that of the eclogites from the Choloktor suite. These suggest there are at least two tectono-metamorphic events of high-pressure type metamorphism in the Atbashy area, southern Tien-Shan, Kyrgyzstan.
