Abstract
Weathered rock materials from the Hirao granodiorite area were collected, described and analyzed systematically. Petrography of weathered exposure sample was described as thin section has been available. Bulk chemistry of the weathered materials were analyzed X-ray fluorescence analysis method. Subsurface soil (excluding organic matter) was also obtained using hand auger and studied as columnar section. Location of the auger site was determined by topological condition considered to avoid both the talus or the colluvial deposit. Columnar variation of analyzed oxide and element is possibly categorized into several patterns. LOI, CaO, Na2O, Ni, Zn, Sr, were gradually decreasing their concentration in connection with depth. MnO, P2O5, Cr, Rb, Sr, Y, Nb, Ba, had several maxima.
