Installation of Guinier Camera XDC-700 and Powder X-ray diffractions of sheet silicates by Guinier Camera

Abstract

A Guinier Camera (XDC-700) with a Johansson-Guinier type monochromator of (101) quartz was installed to a conventional X-ray generator with Cr fine focus for powder X-ray diffraction studies of sheet silicates and to identify sheet silicates in the soil of As-contaminated ground water near Dhaka in Bangladesh. CrKa1 radiation was optimized by some adjusting bases which were newly made. Methods for data analyses, some check points on measurements and examples of X-ray diffraction of sheet silicates by Guinier Camera will be reported.
