Abstract
Fe-rich epidote Minerals group are found from Kamisugai deposit in Sanbagawa matemorphic belt, which is Fe3+-rich piemontite-(Sr) and Fe3+-rich piemontite-(Ba). EPMA analysis for piemontite with highest Fe content gave the empirical formula: Ca1.0(Sr0.76Ba0.13Ca0.10)Σ1.0(Fe3+0.71Mn3+0.26Al0.05)Σ1.01Al 1.0 Mn3+1.0 Si2.99 O12 (OH).A part of piemontite with highest Ba content gave the empirical formula: Ca1.0(Ba0.55Sr0.42Ca0.07)Σ1.04(Fe3+0.62Mn3+0.35)Σ0.96(Al0.99Fe3+0.01)Σ1.0Mn3+1.0Si3.01O12(OH).
