Role of granitoids in the metamorphic evolution of the Ryoke Belt (Iwakuni-Yanai area, SW Japan)

Abstract

We try to understand the role of the so-called Older/Younger granitoids in the metamorphic history of the high temperature Ryoke Belt. We use field observations, geochemical data and zircon ages in order to constrain the mode and timing of emplacement of the different plutonic bodies exposed in the Iwakuni-Yanai area (Yamaguchi Pref., SW Japan).
