Abstract

The tetragonal hydrogarnet derived from CaGeO3 tetragonal garnet was synthesized under high pressure and high temperature. The hydrogen positions were determined and the hydrogen bonding was examined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Consequently, the bifurcated hydrogen-bond can be formed between an H atom and its adjacent two acceptor O atoms.
