Abstract
Recent studies showed similarities between amorphous silicates in matrices of pristine carbonaceous chondrites and GEMS in cometary dust, suggesting that pre-accretional materials could be well preserved in such primitive meteorites. MIL 090657, a minimally altered CR chondrite, is known to have 3 types of lithologies, one of which is dominated by amorphous silicates like GEMS. In this study, we examined MIL 090657 matrix with an FE-SEM and a TEM to reveal the distribution of the lithologies.
