Abstract
Garnet-glaucophane schist comprises mostly of garnet, amphibole (sodic, sodic-calcic and salcic: Gln, Wnc, Brs, Act, Mhb, Ed, Prg), epidote, albite, and chlorite, small amounts of omphacite, K-feldspar, rutile, titanite, hematite, and quartz. Garnet occurs as euhedral to subhedral porphyroblast and contains inclusions of amphibole (Gln, Wnc, Brs, Act), epidote, omphacite (XJd 0.29-0.41), chlorite, albite, K-feldspar, rutile, titanite, and quartz. The metamorphicconditions of garnet-glaucophane schists are estimated as 510 °C and 18.5 kbar in the eclogite facies.
