Serpentine minerals in “Chikuyouseki” from Matsubasemachi, Uki, Kumamoto prefecture, Japan

Abstract

Matsubasemachi, Uki, Kumamoto belongs to Higo metamorphic terrane. In the metamorphic rock of this area, ultrabasic rocks called “chikuyouseki” are known to be distributed for a long time. Olivine which extended into a bamboo leaves form is included in it, and changes to serpentine including minute magnetite. There was a thing with gray or the light green around bamboo leaves parts in this area, I aim at researching mineralogical property of serpentine minerals in chikuyouseki with gray this time.
