Abstract
Purpose of present study is to reveal the growth process of dipyramidal quartz from Tamakami-yama pegmatite by observing growth zoning of four types of quartz single crystals; (A) growing on druse surface, (B) having fracture section nearly parallel to r-face, (C) having fracture section nearly vertical to c-axis,.(D) having fracture section nearly parallel to c-axis.
Type (C) and (D) quartz showed the evidence of pyramidal surface assemblage during mending fracture section process, while Type (B) quartz did not.
Present study shows fracture section relates to mending process.
