Abstract
Electric properties of ice have numbers of studies from a learge dipole moment of water molecule. Hydrogen ordering towerd to applied high electric field also have been often studied, however no previous studies of ambient pressure ice show the evidence of hydrogen ordering due to difficulty of molecular rotation in the phase. In ice VII water molecules are easy to rotate for ordering to stable ordered phase ice VIII.
In this study we tried to measure neutron diffraction of the hydrogen ordering under high electric field.
