Sennoyama is a remnant of pyroclastic cone located in the Oe-Takayama volcanic district, SW Japan. This area is well-known as Iwami Ginzan silver mine. The timing of volcanic activity is 2.1-1.7 Ma. Kano and Takarada (2007) suggested that the cone was produced by basal base surge deposits and subsequent block-and-ash flow deposits. In this study, we start the geological survey and XRF analysis to investigate the volcanic structure and its significance to the silver mineralization.
