Abstract
Chloritization process of biotite in granite has been investigated, by analyzing both the crystal structures and chemical compositions of biotite/chlorite. As a result, a new insight for the chloritization, simultaneous occurrence of the two transformation mechanisms (inheritance of 2:1 layer from biotite and complete dissolution-precipitation), is proposed.
