Abstract
This study petrologically investigated non-juvenile ash grains in pyroclastic deposits at Azuma volcano. By bulk XRD analysis, the samples before Az-OA shows the clear X-ray peaks of smectite and kaolin, while samples after Az-OA showed the strong X-ray peaks of plagioclase, pyroxene, and amphibole. Samples of Az-OA are abundant in acidic-altered ash, also contains neutral-altered grains Whereas, the Az-P7 sample is rich in unaltered ash of extremely high crystalline andesite.
