Abstract
For improving the working efficiency and preventing the accident, the necessity for the digitization and the conversion to a database of medical information and the analysis to the acquired data in the medical institution has been increasing recently. In the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the High Care Unit (HCU), development of the system to monitor and to make database from the information on the medical equipment used to care of the patient is required. Especially, information acquired by the monitoring from the ventilator relates to the life support of the patient directly and the vital monitor that shows the state of the patient is required. Monitoring to the other medical equipments such as the infusion pump, the artificial dialyzer and the Intra-aortic Balloon Pumping (IABP) device that have alarm function is also important, because alarm information in the ICU is useful to prevent the incident and the accident. In this report, we have developed the monitoring system and the Data Collection Interface (DCI) to collect the information on the medical equipments in the ICU. The DCI collects digital data from the equipments and sends it to the system. Using the data, the system has become possible to monitor the states of alarm and abnormality of the equipment in the ICU.
