Abstract
To examine strategies of successful use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in community health activities, we carried out an investigation by interviewing 42 public health nurses who worked in municipalities where advanced health service with ICT was introduced. The contents of the interview were the reason of the introduction of ICT, the progress of tackling, confronting problems and ideas for solution. The contents of the interview were analyzed focusing the observations of public health nurses.
The following results were obtained: the project making use of ICT was conceptually divided into four stages: namely, proposition, planning, execution and evaluation. Six elements were found that were essential for successful execution of the project. Applying these points for successful use of ICT may improve the attitudes of public health nurses toward ICT and the advance of ICT use can be expected.
