Abstract
In this study, usability assessment was conducted for the purpose of developing an on-line system that provides self-care information for patients with stoma. The newly developed system has the advantage that the self-care information, which the user needs, is shown by subdividing the self-care information and relating it with the items which the user has selected.
After system development, usability assessment was conducted among seven nurses and five patients with digestive system stoma using Web Usability Scale (WUS) and System Usability Scale (SUS). The averages of SUS were: Nurses–73 points, Patients with stoma–69 points. The averages of WUS were: Nurses–“Likability”=3.4, “Usefulness”=3.7, “Reliability”=4.1, “Comprehensible operation”=4.0, “User-friendly configuration”=4.0, “Visibility”=3.5, “Good response”=4.3; Patients with stoma–“Likability”=3.5, “Usefulness”=3.5, “Reliability”=3.7, “Comprehensible operation”=3.7, “User-friendly configuration”=3.9, “Visibility”=3.6, “Good response”=3.9.
