Abstract
Until now, the profitability in replacing medical equipment were mainly evaluated using a simple substance apparatus. However, it may be argued that there is a decrease in merit in equipment replacement if conventional profitability is not secured. Therefore, we examined the introductory replacement effect of an MRI system in our hospital by simulation analysis using predictive data obtained by the ARIMA model in clarifying the profitability in replacing medical equipment. As a result of the simulation data, we estimated that it was necessary to perform a 1.6-fold increase in the number of examinations to be cost-effective. This increase was thought to be associated with both new initial cost and maintenance cost of replacing medical equipment. However, we believe it is necessary to conduct a general evaluation for the real introduction because improvement in both quality and effectiveness of the inspection are expected. In conclusion, we believe that it is easy to apply the simulation technique that we used in this study to other fields, and it has high applicability.
