Abstract

Various functions have been introduced into hospital information systems (HIS) to support users, but there are many differences in the operations of these functions between hospitals. At the same time, there are many medical professionals who work at two or more hospitals or whose assigned department changes. When the HIS support functions differ in the previous and current posts of these workers, there are potential risks due to misunderstanding and confusion. However, there has been almost no explicit discussion about such potential risks. In this study, a model to classify support functions from the perspectives of user cognition and behavior was devised and applied to various HIS support functions extracted from a review of the literature, and potential risks were classified into seven types.
