Abstract

In 12 cases in whom the final type of Palatal Augmentation Prosthesis (PAP) was installed after surgery for oral malignant tumor, we examined the weight, status and waiting period until installation, and compared six cases of a new method of fabricating PAP with six cases of the conventional method.
As a result, the period until installation was shorter with the new method and the weight was less compared with the conventional method, and there were no cases of breakage. Furthermore, although the treatment time was longer, the feeling was improved with the new method.
