Metasomatism of the continental lower crust beneath Oki-Dogo, southwest Japan

Abstract

Lower crustal materials such as granulite terranes and deep-seated xenoliths often suffer metasomatism by late-stage magmatism or fluids. To discuss formation process of the lower crust, determination of initial compositions of the lower crustal materials is very important. In this study, we present evidence of metasomatism under the lower crust beneath Oki-Dogo, southwest Japan using lower crustal xenoliths, and discuss the metasomatic agent.
