Abstract

I have made a general survey of the act for equal employment opportunity of sexes which took effect on and after April 1 1988 and checked that with treatments of women-workers in korean companies. I pointed some examples of unequal treatment of sexes which. infringed the law. From the view point of realities of labor management and protection of motherhood, it is evident that korean companies have never treated women-workers equal. It seems to me that the act has not contribute improvement of women' s position enough but it is bringing a lot of possibilities and grounds for that. Because korean government is trying to realize a kind of affirmative action for women.Generally speaking, actualizing an ideal need an idea. a system, and movement for that. I point out that women themselves have first of all to organize the movement which huge amount of women take part in independently for making a improvement of women’s position in korea.
