Abstract
In recent years, the automation of urinary sediment testing has been progressing and has led to increased efficiency. A quality problem arises with complete automation, however, because the material elements that appear in urine are variegated. Moreover, the measurement principles of the automated urine cell analyzers differ among makers. When we introduce equipment, it is important that we know their properties. Here, we introduce the U-SCANNER II. We describe the usefulness of classifying the sample before measuring, setting up the automatic choices, and the post-measurement element check method. For the post-measurement element check method, we devised an original method that utilizes the features of U-SCANNER II. We named this method “SPOT KYOUKEN” and we reported on its usefulness.
