Abstract

The aim of this study was to introduce services and methods of healing care outpatient department and to make an evaluation. The subjects were 26 women visited the department during a three-month period from the middle of December 2003 to the middle of March. We provided "healing care" comprising relaxation services including counseling, massage, deep breathing, exercise and living consultation. As a result, it was found that the age and primary disease varies from psychiatric disease to chronic disease. Of 26 patients, 16 responded to the questionnaire. The overall satisfaction was high that many patients reported "much satisfied" or "satisfied". Particularly, high scores were given to nurse's knowledge, response, technique and explanation, "feeling well" and "healed". After the massage, the patients could have energy to think about their future care with the nurse. All the respondents wanted a continuation of healing care outpatient services.
