Abstract

Objectives: This study aimed to obtain suggestions for creating a system for promoting collaboration between the occupational health nurses and the clinical nurses in support for balancing treatment and work. Methods: A qualitative descriptive research was conducted from September 2021 to March 2022. Five occupational health nurses and five clinical nurses participated in this study. The data were collected by conducting semi-structured interviews with each nurse. Results: A total of 274 unitized cords were extracted. During data integration, 38 lower subcategories, 14 subcategories, and 4 core categories were identified. The four identified core categories are mentioned as follows: “related to nurses themselves,” “related to the team to which the nurses belong,” “related to the organization to which the nurses belong,” and “related to the national system.” The largest number of cords was associated with the “related to nurses themselves” with 134 cords. Conclusion: Although there are many issues that need to be addressed for creating a system for collaboration between the occupational health nurses and the clinical nurses in support for balancing treatment and work, we consider that this study provided useful suggestions for creating such systems.
