Abstract
This report describes the experimental result on the flow of two kinds of dilute colloidal dispersions passing through a small orifice. It is shown that the colloidal particles give a stability or an instability effect on the orifice flow depending on the electrolyte concentration. The measured flow rates fluctuate with the strength of electrostatic repulsion. The increase in the electrolyte concentration stabilizes the orifice flows, whereas excessively high electrolyte concentration causes instablity in the flow rates.
