Abstract
We present a fast numerical algorithm for singular value decompositionof an integral operator with an analytic kernel. An integral equation of the first kind appeared in inverse problems is often ill-posedin the sense of Hadamard, and ill-posedness cases the instabilityof its numerical treatments. Especially influence of rounding errorsand truncation errors is crucial in numerical processes. To overcome the difficulty, the use of multiple-precision arithmeticand high-accurate numerical scheme are effective. However, multiple-precision arithmetic requires us large computation timeand it is a defect in application of multiple-precision numerical computations to practical engineering or medical inverse problems. We apply the symmetric eigenvalue problem and improve the computationtime of numerical singular value decomposition.
